Top of the morning to you all this fine March day of 2018! We greet this new month of green, St. Patrick’s Day and a bit o’ Irish in us all, our new spring starting officially on 3-20-18, and the beginning of another joyful Easter the end of this month. To help celebrate this wonderful month of March, we just posted our CILLYart4U’s KIDS KORNER online with my review of some very seasonally appropriate children’s book, some great games and arts & craft projects shared with us, and 2 of my newest CILLYart original MER-coloring pages for March! Be sure to link into this month’s KIDS KORNER via our website page at:
Lots of leprechaun laughter and an intro into spring and Easter await your family and young students there! Glimpse into some of the fun in our ad photo above!
I have also been very busy setting up a few of my MER-designs on some products in preparation to open up a new online store. Unfortunately, the one with we had just opened up in January via gearbubble.com had to be closed when the product arrived defective. This time, we ordered our the above design on these two product samples through another company and they came out beautifully! So we are moving forward with their products and printing services and setting up a new store. Stay tuned here on my WHAZZUP, CILLYart? blog and via our social media posts to hear of our GRAND OPENING of our CILLYart4U online store!
As mentioned before, TWIN TAILS Book 3 has been written and is currently in the beta-reading process while I am creating the story illustrations for this new book! I easily admit how therapeutic this is for me…I just love to draw and illustrate my imagination! First I created the thumbnail sketches of each story illustration, then the line drawings…and finally end with the story illustrations to be printed in each chapter of my book. Thumbnail sketches are done…and now I am in the line drawing stage of my story illustration creations, which will also be a part of the TWIN TAILS 3 Coloring Book. I have finished the line drawings for several chapters and now share the first one for chapter one with you below:
As you look at this line illustration, can you predict what is happening in this very first chapter of TWIN TAILS Book 3? I have to laugh at this “prediction” challenge…it is one that I gave to my young, reading students every time we turned the page and found a new story illustration in the book we were reading. Predicting what is happening in a story via the story pictures is a great pre-reading skill for young and old! I also have to smile in a bit of embarrassment when I look at this initial scanned copy of this chapter one line illustration as I forgot to draw in the magical bracelet that the twin mermaids now wear on Marina’s left wrist. Not to worry…this blooper was remedied. Believe me, because I hand-draw every illustration, there are plenty of artsy bloopers to be found!
As mentioned above, be sure to stay tuned here to my blog here and other social media sites for our CILLYart4U updates on TWIN TAILS Book 3, our upcoming online store and more…and be sure to share with your family, friends and other MER-fans and MER-folk too! I do love sharing…don’t you?
Well…as much as I love writing this blog post to you, I have other tasks to attend to now. So, I leave you with a glimpse into another TWIN TAILS Book 3 story illustration that is in process. Hmmmm…what do you think is happening in this one?
Until next time, HAPPY ST PATRICK’S DAY, HAPPY SPRING, have a BLESSED EASTER and…
KEEP READING, LEARNING, IMAGINING & CREATING!
